SUMMARY:South Asia Missions Trip
DESCRIPTION:Partner with MBTS Professor of Missions\, Dr. Robin Hadaway and IMB Representatives during Spring Break to take the Gospel to South Asia. South Asia is one of the two most populous countries in the world and home to over one billion people who need the Gospel of Jesus Christ. On this trip\, you will work alongside IMB representatives in evan­gelism and disciple­ship. Visits to the Taj Mahal and other religious and cultural sites are also included. \nThe cost of the trip will be $2\,595 inclusive of round-trip airfare (from KC\, although alternative departure arrangements are available for online students)\, internal transportation\, medical insurance\, food\, lodging\, tips and tuition for either (or both of) the required evangelism class or the mission practicum. Students are responsible for purchasing an e-visa for South Asia on-line for approximately $20. \nPlease submit a $500 deposit to the business office by December 6\, 2019 which is the last day to sign up for the trip. The final amount is due to the business office by January 31\, 2020. \nGraduate Students can enroll in either:\nMN-5060 Evangelism & Discipleship /OR/ MS-7028 Mission Practicum \nCollege Students can enroll in either:\nU-MN 201 Trip Personal Evangelism and Discipleship /OR/ U-MS 350 Trip Missions Practicum  \nThis trip is open to both on-campus and online students. If so\, we hope you’ll make plans to come to a Biblical Theology Workshop for Women. \nOur aim will be to increase our Bible skills so that rather than being bored or intimidated by our Bibles\, we’ll become more intrigued by them. We want to grow in confidence that we’re grasping what the Bible communicates to us and grow in love for the Savior it reveals. \nBible teacher Nancy Guthrie will lead participants in reviewing the key events of the Bible’s story and the major sections of the Bible. Nancy will demonstrate telling the story of the Bible through the lens of one of its important themes\, and participants will work together on tracing a few themes through the various sections of the Bible. Then we’ll look at the opening of each of the Gospels and discover how a growing understanding of major biblical themes adds to our understanding when we see those themes arise in smaller parts of the Bible. Dean Sam Bierig will be available for book signings after the event. \nThe event will be held in the Mathena Student Center Reception Hall on Midwestern Seminary’s campus from 11:00am to 12:00pm. \nThe first 10 people to arrive will receive a free copy of the book. It will also be available for purchase from the Sword & Trowel for $10 on the day of the event.
