DESCRIPTION:Welcome New Students! \nNew Student Orientation is taking place on January 10\, from 2:30pm to 6:30pm (dinner included).  Please note that New Student Orientation is required for all new students taking on campus classes.  Online students who reside 50 miles from campus are also required to attend this event.  (Online students residing beyond the 50 mile radius are also welcome to attend on August 16\, but will have a separate online orientation available as well). \nAre there things you still need to do in order to be ready for the start of the semester?  Make plans now to arrive early in order to enroll\, pay your bill\, get help logging onto your student portal/email\, ask housing questions\, and get your ID card and/or vehicle permit!  Offices will be open and personnel will be standing by to assist you from 1pm to 2:30pm.  Check in at the Welcome Center of the chapel building\, and our staff will be there to assist you in getting to the appropriate offices.  This is the only opportunity you will have to handle business at NSO\, so please take advantage of this time if there is anything you need to take care of! Please RSVP to handle business here. \nFor those of you who are currently enrolled\, etc… and are ready for the semester\, New Student Orientation will officially begin in the Chapel Welcome Center at 2:30pm.  During the course of this event\, you will not only receive important information\, you will also have an opportunity to meet faculty\, staff\, and friends. \nPlease dress business casual (e.g. men: dress pants and collared shirt; women – slacks and nice blouse)\, as you will be taking your Student ID pictures\, and we will be holding a dinner during the course of the event.  You will also have an opportunity to enter a drawing for a $200 gift card to the Sword & Trowel\, and all new students will receive a small gift from the office of Student Life & Events to welcome you to the Midwestern community. \nLimited childcare is available for children ages 12 and under\, so be sure to register your children as soon as possible to ensure that they have a spot. DESCRIPTION:Got enough grit for our gridiron? Recruit your team and sign up to be a part of Midwestern’s annual flag football tournament: the Midwestern Bowl! This event will take place on Saturday\, October 27. Kick off is at 9am\, but please have your team checked-in by 8:30am. Registration is FREE. These will be 6 on 6 tournaments with a maximum of 8 players per team and a female from each team must be on the field at all times. \nTo sign-up\, each team member must have or create an account at IM Leagues. You will then be able to look under the event at MBTS and sign-up for the Midwestern Bowl. (You can also search “Midwestern Bowl” to find the event.) \nBe sure to invite your family and friends to grab a lawn chair and to come out and watch! Tailgaters welcome!

We’ll have corn dogs\, funnel cake\, bounce houses\, carnival games\, a carousel\, and more!  \nThe Fall Festival event is rather near\nIt is one of the best events of the year!\nYou may be wondering what to expect\nWe’ll tell you through poetry\, please don’t object!\nOctober 19 is today.\nYour family can go on a ride filled with hay.\nFor the kids you’ll find a carousel\nFace painting\, a bounce house\, we won’t undersell.\nAn octopus ride for the older people\nMany games\, lots of fun\, and even skee-ball.\nFor all who come we will have food trucks\nYou won’t even have to shell out a few bucks.\nPetting zoos and pony rides are sure to bring a smile\,\nA photo bus for memories that make coming worthwhile!\nThis event will bring together our community\nSo please don’t miss this opportunity!\nWe hope you’ll join us from five to eight\nOn October 19 we will celebrate! \nSee you there! \nImportant Announcements for Tonight \n\nWe’re excited to see you all tonight at the Fall Festival. We have a few important details to make you aware of for tonight‘s event. Please read the following information carefully to ensure that everyone has a safe and enjoyable evening: \n1) Please do not bring pets to this event. We will have a petting zoo with pony rides that we do not want to be disturbed by other pets. \n2) Please be sure to stay with your children throughout the event. We have big rides that require adult supervision and we request that you do not allow your children to roam freely in the event space.  \n3) At the Spring Picnic\, we had so many people attend and the lines for food trucks were very long!
