DESCRIPTION:We’re excited to welcome all incoming new students of Midwestern Seminary and Spurgeon College to campus with a free dinner and concert! \nOn Friday evening (August 16th)\, new students are required to attend the New Student Dinner at 5:15 PM. NSD provides students and their families with an opportunity to connect with other students\, meet faculty and staff members\, hear from Dr. Allen\, and eat some of Kansas City’s best BBQ. Students who register for the dinner will receive a free ticket to the Jimmy Needham concert\, which begins at 7 PM. Prior to the dinner\, students will have an opportunity to take care of any unfinished business before the semester begins. The following offices will be open from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and will expecting students: IT\, Security\, Registrar\, Financial Services\, and Housing. The dinner will begin after the “business portion” of NSD. DESCRIPTION:The C. W. Scudder lectureship brings a guest speaker to the campus to explore the biblical basis for dealing with contemporary social challenges and ethical issues. This year’s lectures are being given by Denny Burk\, director of the Center for Gospel and Culture at Boyce College and Southern Seminary. The lecture series will take place on the evening of Mar. 7 from 5-8pm in the Chapel Banquet Hall. \nLecture 1 – “Is Gay Okay for Christians?
